It is complication for women

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

Firstly, it is not easy to conceive. We have to maintain a healthy lifestyle and make sure our weight is within the healthy range before ttc.

After conceiving, we must face any form of complications from gestation to childbirth - miscarriage, bleeding, swollen legs, backache, skin stretch marks, appearance of varicose veins, weight increase, rashes (in some cases)

During childbirth, the PAIN and FEAR are indescribable.

Right after that, there may be lacerations of the uterine cervix, perineal ruptures, episiotomy scars, loss of strength of the structures of the pelvic floor, cystoceles, breast and abdominal flabbiness, etc. If a caesarean section is performed, parturition traumas are avoided, but surgical scars remain.
That's why I always think that guys will never understand how we feel during gestation and labor.

I was very happy but worry when I recieved an sms from ssn chua at 7am, telling me that vas has given birth to a baby but is a pre-mature baby. I'll be going to hospital after work to give her a hug...There are also a few mothers-to-be among my readers. Congratulations!!! I hope all go well for you all and wish you all have a smooth, easy, happy and most importantly, safe pregnancy and delivery!

Diana - childbirth is not really that painful. Trust me! I was sleeping during my labor cos too tired. Always remember pain or not - depend on what kind of message you send to your brain. The more tense you are, the more painful it will be. Always maintain relax state=) Oh! I hope your friend is doing fine *Hugs* She must be strong cos the baby need a lot of her encouragment. How big is the baby? She give birth during how many weeks of her pregnancy?

oh...epidural helps a lot? For my sis case,it was not enough time so they didn't give her epi but she was lucky in a way because it took her 2 hours to deliver my niece.

My friend had a c section, baby is 3kg at special care unit and she is under observation. Thanks.. I have no idea how many weeks old but her edd should be early oct.

I didn't use epidural. As I didn't sleep while waiting for dilation. Hence by the time my active labor start I was too tired. So I slept while waiting for contraction.

Your friend baby is big in size so don't consider pre-mature. If edd early oct - baby weight should be like 1.5kg.

haha...we were wondering too, maybe her edd was wrongly calculated! It was so risky and when I saw her big tummy end May, I warned her not to go Aus for her holiday in June..thank god she is fine. I'll visit her today at kk today.

Oh yah, about the painful childbirth. do you know that i will "goosebump" when think of episiotomy.

Haha... Some woman are lucky to get away from episiotomy. So you wouldn't know. Don't think or stress so much. It will affect your baby plan;) I still think your friend calculate wrongly. Hope both of them is doing well=)

Of course - if can avoid C-sec because a lot of complication. I know because I personally witness from my girlfriend. How she suffer even when her child is 1 year old. However sometime is not up to you to don't want C-sec. My gf have C-sec because her cervix is thick. Actually during labor, vaginal exam to check dilution is more scary then epi. This is what I think.

Haha...mind telling me how they check for dilation?

My friend also went for E csection. hopefully i don't have to.
