Barbecue @ Aloha
The house is big, much bigger than the one Nat rented for Cheryl's 2nd Birthday! There are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a huge dining area and a big kitchen too.. A noteworthy fact is the spectacular view ... breezy and relaxing..After checking in, the rest went out to get some stuff and look what we've found..OYSTERS!!!!! We missed Sydney so much, this was what we did (almost everyday) while we were staying at Uncle Gordon's place 2 years back. After 'fishing', Chris came back with these !

Happy Holi
Saturday, March 22, 2008
Holi - the festival of colors is one of the most popular festivals of the country. It is celebrated during the spring season and embodies all the festivity, liveliness and exuberance of the season. Holi is the festival of young hearts. Spraying colors, dancing on traditional Holi songs, musical drum beats and wild processions are the common scenes that one comes across during this festival. The festival is associated with various legends but the most popular among them is the tale of Hollika. According to legends there was a demon-king named Hiranyakashipu who was very cruel and ordered everybody to worship him and not God. He was against Lord Vishnu. However, his little son Prahlad refused to do so and continued to worship the almighty Lord Vishnu, the Hindu God. He tried hard to kill him but every time Lord Vishnu saved him. One of the sisters of the king named Holika had a boon to remain unscathed by fire, so she followed her brother's wishes. However, with this sinful act against Lord Narayana's devotee, Holika's boon ended and she was burnt to ashes, while Prahlad came out safe. From that day onwards Holi is celebrated as the festival of the victory of good over evil. Even today, bonfires are lit on the night before Holi in memory of the event and burning of the evil Holika. It symbolizes the victory of Good over evil. -->extract from Happy Holi
Ben and I ever celebrated Happy Holi with his colleagues and we are going to give it a miss this year as I am still having chesty cough. How do we celebrate it? They will prepare lots of Indian food and lots colourful powder(gulal). We will sing and dance and sprinkle all the colourful gulal in the air, apply on each other faces and clothings. Sounds fun, right? This is actually a festival of fun and nobody could miss being colored on this day.

Saarthak's 4th Birthday
There is one extra candle on the cake, they will keep the extra one lighted and the mother will take a way before cake cutting. After cake cutting, birthday boy will feed his parents and granny before distributing the cakes to the rest. I've been attending numerous birthday celebration and "is always like that"..Don't ask me why, is their tradition. * will find out more, ok? *
Ben's colleagues are from India, when come to celebration, is either Indian Food or Indian Vegetarian Food. We love it! We love the way they celebrate and they are all very friendly people. Shame on me, I sometimes forget their names but they never fail to call my name whenever they see me!
This year they decided to hold the party at Madras Woodlands Ganga Restaurant at Belilios Lane. We've been celebrating Shaathak's bday at Banana Leaf for the past 3 years. Food is awesome and look at the spread !
We are going to have another gathering coming weekend at Keerthi's place. Yeah, Ben's Boss! He always makes sure I don't feel out of place as there isn't any Chinese around. Well, tandoori chicken, masala chicken and naan will be good to entertain me.hehehe.. I am so bad!! But I can tell you, they will definitely prepare this for me even though they are vegetarian, aren't they the NICEST person on earth?
When they know we are going to shop for some furniture and lighting after that, Keerthi whispered," Ben, buy more good stuff because A LOT of $$ is coming into your account next month.." *wink*
