After settling some paperwork at TYP hub, Ben and I went to Balestier Road to do some window shopping. Talk about Balestier Road, how can we miss this?

Yeah, the best Tau Sar Piah from Loong Fatt. I happily joined the queue, thinking that I can buy 2 dozens for Nat and parents, to my horror, I found no notes in my wallet! I forgot to draw cash. I digged and digged and diggety-dig out $5.40 !!

Aunt : 你要几个咸，几个甜 ? (lu ai gui gai giam? gui gai liam?)

Di : 九个，咸的 ! 谢谢。 (gao gai, giam, boh gai li)

We spoke in Hainanese! I didn't know they are hainanese until they overheard I spoke hainanese to my family, and knowing we are from the same clan, we use our common lingo. I MUST RAVE about their homemade tau sar piah!! Is really the best I've ever tasted!! The skin is so flaky and the paste just smelt in your mouth and trust me, it goes very well with the hainanese coffee! Please don't tell me about the calories of one tau sar piah, I finished more than quater and yes I forgot to take photos! Below are courtesy from preposterous.

Crazy M and Ben have been calling my little Twistie "chat4zai2" 七仔 these days, saying that he looks like the character in CJ7 (steven chow's movie)..bad bad, make fun of my gege.. *smack*

Why Pizza?

Margaret has been pestering me to bake something these few days, be it a cake or a kuih. Not only that, she also kept insisting that we had promised her to go shopping at Causeway Point together and dine in at PASTAMANIA. Well, we went there at the end despite much reluctance but we didn't go to Pastamania.

M : OK, then we go home and make pasta tonight?
D : Need to buy minced meat and spaghetti. I am not sure if there is any pasta sauce at home. Don't forget we need to buy mushroom as well.
M : Well, then we bake pizza will do.
D : That's a better idea and much easier as I have flour and yeast at home. Go grab some ham, cheese and tomatoes paste.

We headed home and I start searching for some recipe online and found this from small small baker . There are plenty of recipes online but I choose her as I don't have bread flour at home, well, I have no idea why must it be bread flour as the original recipe for pizza dough use only flour or semolina flour. Anyway, so long as my dough does raise and doesn't collapse, I shall thank her for the recipe!

French Toast

I woke up this morning..a bit late but everyone was still asleep. I do laundary, mop the floor, water the plants, throw rubbish, clean up the war zone and prepare breakie for everyone. While preparing the breakie, M woke up and took over as my stomach was a little bit cramp. Thankie!

NetMeeting Session

I cannot believe this, we actually meet up with Internet Friends! It may be very common nowadays to meet up with forum buddies, so, what so special to blog about this meeting?

First, Clarice is Ben's net friend.
Secondly, Clarice knows Ben more than 6 years ago BUT NEVER MET BEFORE UNTIL TODAY!
Thirdly, Clarice and Charles are also net friend.
Forthly, Clarice also never meet up with Charles before.
and Lastly, I don't know ANYONE OF THEM except my Mr.Ben!

But we enjoyed our dinner outing so much tonight. Clarice is such a typical Msian girl and she laughs a lot! Hope she can find a job in Sg so that we can meet up more often.

Rose

I love rose, especially a big, vibrant red, long stemmed rose. Ben always buy me a stalk of rose. To say sorry, he will get yellow or orange small and short stemmed rose; for special occasion, he will get the red one. Today, I saw this one

Is our 2nd Anniversary(official date). I was quite surprise as I thought he would have forget (we normally celebrate it on Good Friday) ... and yes, I am very happy to see the rose.

Nasi Lemak

It has been years since we last cook NASI LEMAK at home. Many thanks to my mummy who helped me to get all the ingredients, cleaned up the kunning fishes, washed and dryed the peanuts and ikan bilis(anchovies) and tied the pandan leaves for the rice. Mostly fried food, easy to prepare and simple to cook, except the sambal chili. I can't share much about the sambal recipe as the some of the ingredients eg. chili powder was given our Indian neighbour whose mummy brought back from Sri Lanka. It is really very tasty !

Ta dah!! We have sunny-side-up egg, fish ball, sambal sotong, kunning fish, fried chicken, otah, peanut and ikan bilis !!

Our uncle Ben received good pay raise and bonus, so he wanted to give everyone a treat tonight. Peranakan Food was the first thing came across my mind but due to the location, we decided to go somewhere nearby - Upper Thomson.

Was pretty disappointed, nothing to rave about especially the crab that cost $100! Serve too late and the portion was way too big for us. Boss told me to order 2 crabs but didn't tell me the size of 1 crab..

Don't think we will come back again..

With Daddy & Mummy

It was suppose to be a lazy Saturday but I suggested to go to some warehouse sales to look-see look-see. After 2-3 hours walking, we left that ulu place empty handed and had a wonderful lunch at Wanchai Hong Kong Tea Room 湾仔香港奶茶店.

If you still remember, I blogged about this cafe before (with N at IMM). I was looking for some winter wear for my cold cold Shanghai trip and we enjoyed ourselves so much on that day...

The Expired Vidaylin

Don't get me wrong, I am neither selling these expired vidaylin nor promoting but sharing an idea with you how to deal with expired vitamins (syrup) you have at home.

Papa Lim (snr con) has got lots of cactus at his house and he always get our assistance to keep these expired vitamins syrup for him.

We : Papa Lim, why do you need these for?
PL : These can be used as fertiliser.
We : Really? How?
PL : Just pour 1 tsp of syrup into approx. 500mls of h2o and water your plant everyday.

I'm going to do this everyday and see how my herbs grow.. THANK YOU PAPA LIM!

Before I could finish singing this song, my eyes were filling with tears..If you happen to be one of his fans, you'll know why I blog about him today. Yup, is his 5th death anniversary. I still remember when I called N and told her about his death, she thought I was joking because it was April Fool and how I wish this wasn't the truth.
