Tricks or Treats !?!

Friday, October 31, 2008

Oh, it's Halloween again. Ben's ang moh colleagues in US are telling him they are going to dress up together with the kids and enjoy their holiday.

In Singapore, we don't really celebrate Halloween. At most, you will see people dressing up for parties, in weird outfits, along Orchard Road, Bugis and Cityhall area. The common Halloween activities include trick-or-treat, costume parties, watching horror movies, ghost tours, visiting haunted attractions! Yeah, I received an email from SPI for the visiting and of course, I did not respond to that mail.

Maybe I should try watching scary movies later.. Hahaha...

While on our way home, I saw Stefanie, our new neighbour, bringing her 4 kids out, distributing candies and they are all dressed up in cute outfits. Thanks darlings for your candies and hope you all enjoy the night!

Welcome Back !

Ever since I decided to lock my blog five days ago, various reasons have made me rethink about this whole blog-locking business. It is becoming more and more pointless to have the blog locked, based upon the following analysis:
  1. I receive an average of 10 requests per day for invitations. Going at this rate, the limitation of 100 invitees will soon run out.
  2. Genuine readers may not have returned before the blog is locked. And when they do, having a locked-down blog on their faces is not such a good idea. When that happens there is no way (that I know of) for them to request for an invitation. Okay, I know how it feels because I got locked out outside her blog and the funny part is, she can still view mine.
  3. Viewership of a private blog will only go down, never up. While I once thought it can do me some good, I now find it counterproductive.
I apology for making you guys send me requests for the past few days, thanks for your support and hope that my blog can continue to inspire/entertain you!

Only Invited Readers

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

Updates : I've send out invitations to those who emailed me today. *nice knowing you all* You all may continue to come to my blog with your email addresses but then I think you need to register with blogger.com

With more than 100 readers a day, I thought this blog was only browse by those I know and those who want to know me. *maybe*

After blogging so many stuff over the past few years, Ben said I should limit my blog readers and of course, not so much of "exposure" as we should have some privacy over our own lives. *yup, stop telling people what I am doing daily or else more people will tell me my blog is "so boring"*
All right all right, to all my silent readers out there, my blog is open to invited readers only, wef from coming weekend. If you want to continue browsing my blog, email me at koala_bare@hotmail.com

Congratulations to Vas and Joel !

Friday, August 29, 2008

I board SBS57 at Depot Road and it took me an hour to reach KKH. I went straight to get little baby girl a gift.Vas was admitted to Ward 81 but baby was still at Special Care Nursery. We had a little chat and we made a trip to SCN to take a look at her newborn. Poor Vas has allergy to all analgesic that she was only given Tramadol to ease the pain, her incision wound was pretty painful and it took our friend almost 30 min to get to her chair. *sayang* This is SCN at KKH, a step down unit for neonate from NICU. Nurses are friendly and we are allowed to take photos. Oh...babies are so tiny and cute.. Here is her little girl, she looks so much like Vas ! Again, congratulations on your newborn and your 4-mth maternity leave !

NetMeeting Session

Monday, April 14, 2008

I cannot believe this, we actually meet up with Internet Friends! It may be very common nowadays to meet up with forum buddies, so, what so special to blog about this meeting?

First, Clarice is Ben's net friend.
Secondly, Clarice knows Ben more than 6 years ago BUT NEVER MET BEFORE UNTIL TODAY!
Thirdly, Clarice and Charles are also net friend.
Forthly, Clarice also never meet up with Charles before.
and Lastly, I don't know ANYONE OF THEM except my Mr.Ben!

But we enjoyed our dinner outing so much tonight. Clarice is such a typical Msian girl and she laughs a lot! Hope she can find a job in Sg so that we can meet up more often.

Saarthak's 4th Birthday

Friday, March 21, 2008

There is one extra candle on the cake, they will keep the extra one lighted and the mother will take a way before cake cutting. After cake cutting, birthday boy will feed his parents and granny before distributing the cakes to the rest. I've been attending numerous birthday celebration and "is always like that"..Don't ask me why, is their tradition. * will find out more, ok? *
Ben's colleagues are from India, when come to celebration, is either Indian Food or Indian Vegetarian Food. We love it! We love the way they celebrate and they are all very friendly people. Shame on me, I sometimes forget their names but they never fail to call my name whenever they see me!

This year they decided to hold the party at Madras Woodlands Ganga Restaurant at Belilios Lane. We've been celebrating Shaathak's bday at Banana Leaf for the past 3 years. Food is awesome and look at the spread !
We are going to have another gathering coming weekend at Keerthi's place. Yeah, Ben's Boss! He always makes sure I don't feel out of place as there isn't any Chinese around. Well, tandoori chicken, masala chicken and naan will be good to entertain me.hehehe.. I am so bad!! But I can tell you, they will definitely prepare this for me even though they are vegetarian, aren't they the NICEST person on earth?
When they know we are going to shop for some furniture and lighting after that, Keerthi whispered," Ben, buy more good stuff because A LOT of $$ is coming into your account next month.." *wink*

Egg Tarts..for you girls..

Friday, November 23, 2007

Finally this day has come..

I've handed Sis Lim my locker key, name tag and my benefit card..

I've also baked some egg tarts for my fellow colleagues and here is the packaging..

Congratulations!

I was still with Mei Ling during her contraction and 3 hours later, her baby boy sees the light of day, or rather the light from the florescence light as it was already 9 plus in the night. Haha...

Her EDD was supposed to be on the first week of December that I thought I may miss, luckily I am able to touch the little angel before our departure.

Ben stared at him for few minutes that Siti was trying to coax him(us) to have baby, not only Siti, Lyneous did the same thing too!

!Farewell My Fellow Colleagues!

No matter how much hatred I had inside me(towards her), how much I wanted to leave this place... There is always someone I missed the most...

*stop guessing, she is not in all photos, what are you taking me for? A hipocrite? Or Britney Spears?*

Song of the post to set the mood -
These are the powerpuff girls at our front counter. I really love working with you girls even though you all are quite fierce esp. on Tues and Thu but I always tell myself, "everyone has their own way to distress themself."

Kak Noor, I still remember my first day in clinic, you were the one who did a little orientation in the clinic with me. You are always soft spoken, polite and humble. Please don't feel bad anymore, there is other reason for me to make this decision.

Srina is a big mama in the clinic. To me, she is BRAVE. Her hubby owns 2 shops at Esplanade - The Tatami Shop and The Cookies Museum, must ask for discount when I visit the stores, haha!

Grace is from Philipine and has 2 beautiful kids. I still remember how sexy she looked even in her maternity clothes.

Barvani, please remember to SMS me when your big day has come.. *wink*

My best best buddy : KAREN TANG. Bubbly and hot tempered but I really wish you all the best and hope your dream comes true. When I am really down and no where to hide in the clinic, (you might not know this) you're always there (in the cine room) to be with me..

Sukini," You are always my favourite girl.." I never had the chance to tell you, "Kak Su, you really make me feel protected, you are like a mummy to me..."

Bread Making

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

Ahha, I am not the one who bake the bread but my 2 lovely colleagues, opps, I should say ex-colleagues, Trina & Jessica. This bread maker is belong to Sis Lim and she always bakes it using the Prima Premix Bread Flour. I will use the word "busy" rather than "lazy" as I know, everyone is 'BUSY' in the clinic most of the time so she will just mix the flour + honey + water and .....3 hours later.... THE BREAD IS READY !

One of my ex-colleague was trying to praise herself in front of Dr DZP by saying," I used to set the (bread maker)timer every night at home and by 6am, viola~my bread is done so we have "freshly baked bread" at home daily."
And I emphasized it," yeah, and the premix bread flour costs you $3.15 per pack."

Recycle Paper Tray

Thursday, October 25, 2007

As above, is recycle from A4 paper boxes, my smart colleague, Yvonne did all these for our clinic usage and I must salute to her. It is not easy to cut the hard box with pen knife and moreover, is in alignment, she even use the scotch tape to cover all the cut edges.

Side Track a bit :
I found this really cute and I .......*wicked smile*

Wei Ling's 27th Birthday Party

Saturday, October 06, 2007

Venue : SAF Holiday Chalet, Sealand Road.

Karen is such a lovely girl, she bought cakes and many durian puffs for us and her mood was extremely good for the whole week! Hence everyone in the clinic knew about her birthday party but the cutest part was, she actually invited [ONLY]me and Ben to her party in front of other colleagues. *wiggles*

I have no idea what should I get for her so I decided to bake her my favourite cheesecake!

Fruity Cheesey Cake

GoodBye Lily!!!

Monday, July 30, 2007

A farewell dinner at Clarke Quay for Lily, my super nice supervisor at CCA. She is migrating to Melbourne with her hubby and two children. How I wish I can stay in Australia with Ben and our future kids, is really a very nice place to stay... I am going to miss her, Lily guides me a lot when I was at CCA and I can never forget the laughters and happy days ...

Many thanks to Sister Lim for our Hokkaido Ice Cream
