That's it - Oriental Singapore is our choice

Saturday, July 08, 2006

We went to Oriental Hotel today to meet up with Mark Chan, the wedding coordinator. He showed us around and WE REALLY LOVE the garden suite. Saw the picture? He is willing to throw in perks on top of the package and each table is more than $1k, to be exact, is $1026 after taxes. He brought us to the Bridal Room to show us the presentation and really 2 thumbs up, the food looks really yummy! Very exclusive and with the renovation, this is really a very very classy and beautiful hotel. No more guests (from Marina Square) abusing the "public toilet" as they actually sealed up the entrance from MS. The ambience is really make my jaw drop. All we need to do now is to view the bridal suite and sign on the dotted line. Can't wait to see the bridal suite, hopefully by next week we will settle with the venue selection, finally...

At Dang Boutique

This gown is so nice and gorgeous, I'll show it to Dang on next appointment to consult if my figure looks nice on this design.

Here are some pictures taken during my first consultation with Dang, I love duchess satin!! Yet to decide the designs, most likely will choose a ballgown design, princess neckline is common, but I think I look good with it. Saw the girl in RED behind, she was giving me the look that I am not suitable to wear this beautiful gown, yes I have to admit that my back is fleshy as this gown was made to measure for another slimmer bride, Dang was letting me to try it on as I told her I love duchess satin, what the h*ll.

I love Great Singapore Sale

Saturday, July 01, 2006

I still remember Ben applied Citibank credit card last 2 years before GSS as I love shopping and he actually sub a card for me. Please don't call me shopping queen as I've retired! I seldom shop nowadays and to prevent us from having debts, we only use credit card when required and YeS, he signed his card for my second baby - Burberry. Got it at a very low price, I simply love GSS.

Dallas's Cake is DONE!

Thursday, June 29, 2006

Well, this is my first try, I have to admit that this is not good at all. The fondant was rolled the wrong way and I really have hard time covering my cake after icing. I also forgot to put some icing before I cover. It was so fragile, so much harder than I thought, I really need more practise. The icing is too soft and too watery, I mustn't use that brand next time. Anyway, praise me!! Ben said it was a great achivement for my first try. Hope Dallas will like this cake. There will be a birthday party + BBQ at Keng's place, yes the same old place we had our wedding solemnization. Will try to take some nice pictures. Stay tune..

Guess my weight?

Sunday, June 25, 2006

I think I am on the right track, Aunt June and Uncle Chee said I look lethargic, may be slightly malnutrition, suggested me to go see a dietician, well, I do have a friend who is a dietician who looks so much like a skeleton, guess I need to consult her when I see her. Still, I seriously don't think I am slim enough. I really hate my thunder thigh and flabby bye-bye arms. Try asking Consultants and Registrar to prescribe some anti-obesity drugs but they just refuse and keep asking me to go for exercise, I AM TOO TIRED AFTER WORK, plain lazy...

So happy to see the weighing scale unit drop by 2 of my original weight today, hahaha, is 49kg.

Don't ask me how did I do that? I didn't know either. Dr. TanYS said that he lost 7 kgs since January, he actually stops eating rice for dinner daily and I am trying out the same method, of cause with little exercise. Hope this helps:

My breakfast daily : 2 slices of breads with cheese and some butter spread, not forgetting my die die-must-drink 250mls of Milo.

My Lunch : Half a bowl of rice, 1 share of green vegetables(mostly stir fried), 1 share of fish(non fried), sometimes with a bowl of home-made non fat/oily clear soup with lead meat.

My dinner daily : 2 shares of green leafy vegetables(mostly stir fried), 1-2 shares of fish(mostly steam, sometimes slightly fried), a big bowl of non oily soup with some lean meat.

Exercise : Stop my yoga class as I really can't wake up at 0730am over the Saturday. Play badminton with hubby approximately 3 times/week for 1 hour each session. Jog for 20 min( I know is not enough) twice/week.

My target : 46kg
Kgs to shed : 3kgs

Updates on banquet venue

We are changing our mind not getting any of the 3 listed o my blog months ago. Oriental Singapore and Four Season Hotel are the 2 that we've shortlisted. Many may ask why, well, the answer is really simple, we want somewhere really exclusive and what I REALLY want. I've been thinking, this is really a once a life time thingy and I don't wanna regret. Many into the consideration too, we want good photos, beautiful venue and fantastic bridal suite and not many hotels can cater 12 tables, actually fall in love with the Garden Suite of Oriental Hotel the very first time I saw it. We are going to visit meet up with the wedding coordinator of these 2 hotels this coming weekend.

My very first butter cake

I know this is abit silly but we are going to make our very own wedding cake. Ben has encouraging me to bake one since I am always like to be in the kitchen. Yes I can cook but I've never bake a cake. I've tried some cookies many years back while I was still in the Poly. Today, with mum's help, I've baked my first butter cake, thanks to Wilton's recipe and my parents, who went around with me to look for the baking tools and ingredients. Thanks to my lovely hubby who has been supportive. I still have a year time to practise and yes, practise make perfect. So bear with me, okay? Why? Because I am going to bake at least 2 cakes in a month or once a week and of cause I am going to give it to my colleagues, Ben's colleagues and my relatives as I am on strict diet, 900 calories? Dr. Johan, if I lose weight successfully, I am going to bake one for you too!!
Well, that's it for all now without icing, but will try next week together with the fondant I've bought today at Jurong and I'm going to give it Dallas as her birthday cake, can't wait to next week!!

Teeth Whitening

Sunday, June 18, 2006

Yes I went for teeth whitening last 2 weeks. The process took about 2 hours including consultation, molding, scaling and of cause, the laser.

A bit painful, especially the gum areas but the result is good! I better not post the before and after photos but is worth the money!
